Teaching Point- Readers of HF notice the voice of the unknown character. Strategy:Create an idea of the opinion that is opposite of the main character.

Opposing thought:
It is not bad to be a Jew. The Nazis had no right to drive the Jews out and treat them unequally.

Opposing character:
Our book club members have agreed that the opposing character in Milkweed is not confused or oblivous of the war. He is the one who confronts Misha that it is not bad being a Jew.

Major Event
: Misha meets Uri.

What Events led up to this: Misha is a thief. When he was stealing bread and bumped into Uri who now takes care of him.

Prediction: Uri and Misha hang out and stick with each other. Something might happen to Uri.


Today February 25th

Opposing character: A character that is not confused. Knows that being a Jew is a good thing.

Opposing thought: Jews must be rid of. Everyone is thinking that Jews are really bad.
